Risk-Based Screening of Radionuclide and Chemical Releases from the Savannah River Site: ATL provides technical assistance to the CDC in the performance of dose reconstruction studies of radiation and chemical exposures to the public. In the first task under this contract, currently ongoing, ATL is performing a dose reconstruction for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site nuclear weapons production facility in South Carolina. This involves modeling and risk assessment expertise as well as health physics and environmental health expertise to address both chemical and radiological exposures. ATL has prepared and presented briefings to the CDC and a public advisory committee, and has submitted several "white papers" documenting aspects of our problem-solving approach. ATL has adapted the GENII V. 2 computer code for this project, and has programmed a pre-processor and post-processor to augment GENII.
